Could You Help With “Last Night at Council”?
We’re looking for a little help from someone in our LRA family.
Over the past year, we’ve been sharing our “Last Night at Council” posts to help residents understand what happened at Council without having to watch the stream or wade through all of the pages of agendas and minutes.
They’ve been a great way to keep people informed, but they also take quite a bit of time to put together.
So we’re wondering… is there someone in our membership who would enjoy taking this on?
It’s really about being curious about what’s happening in our town, following Council discussions, and helping translate the important stuff into plain, everyday language.
After a Council meeting, the task would be to:
• Look through the agenda and/or minutes • Pick out the things residents would be most interested in • Summarize the important discussions and decisions • Point out upcoming issues or things people may want to keep an eye on • Turn it into a Blog post for the Ladysmith Residents Association
You don’t have to be a municipal expert. If you’re interested in local government, enjoy reading and writing, and can explain things in a way that makes sense to your neighbours, you could probably do this! We’d be happy to have two people share the job if that makes it more manageable.

The LRA is made up of residents who care about Ladysmith. Every time another member steps forward to help, it makes what we do that much stronger.
