The Town’s 2025 audited financial statements were presented. The audit resulted in an unqualified opinion, confirming that Ladysmith’s finances are fairly presented and well managed. The Town reported a strong annual surplus of approximately $9.98 million and increased financial assets. You can find the full report in the attached document.
Council also received the RCMP’s annual reporting and approved the 2026–2027 policing performance plan, which reflects community safety priorities identified through local consultation.
Council approved a development permit for a multi-family project (3 units) at 303 Chemainus Road – Anderson property.
Bylaws introduced and passed:
Amendment to Streets and Traffic Bylaw regarding wording and rates for sidewalk patios
2026 Property Tax Rates Bylaw, Water and Sewer Rates Bylaw
Ladysmith Historical Society’s requested artifact storage.
First motion was to consider the request

Second motion was to approve request for one year, with mutual option to renew
